she couldn't stop laughing!  it was so cute!!

Hip Hop!

End of our JL tenure :)

One scar of 4...this is where the bone poked out and they had to wash and rinse the bone and tissue...

this is where they tried to insert pins, but had to go in through the wrist and elbow to put in the rods instead...

Brooke's last cast!  and it's waterproof!!
Daddy loves to get the girls in PJs....

Kam in carline...

Erin on the trampoline!  she's moved on to the series and tuck class :)  she loves it.

Our Spring in Pictures...

Erin's 8th birthday...out of school early, lunch with me and Aunt Rachel, pedicures and cake!  We love our girl, beautiful on the inside and out...

Kam's first haircut with Aunt Rachel.  Aunt Rachel kidnapped her for her first trim...only got one shot cause this hair takes years to grow!  LOL at this do.

Brooke's make shift bed...

Poor Snuggy...

Brooke at lunch with her friend Ellie...

Our 17 hour drive to Steamboat...in a BLIZZARD...this pic was taken before we were in it...scariest drive ever as we crossed Raton Pass and cars were swirling out of control...Erin reminded us to pray...God protected.

Steamboat!  Erin will be skiing better than me next year!  Bittersweet!  Had to keep her out of the trails in the trees...she and dad make a dangerous duo out there!

Mom and Dad came with us...both got to ski!

ER after first day of skiing...compound fracture from discovering and observing her love of icicles...they just happened to be hanging underneath the rooftop that she slid over so that she could get a better view... :(  Bravest girl ever.

You can see the break if you look at the middle of her forearm...that's what I saw after she told me she broke her arm, but maybe it would get better if it just 'rested'.  We also learned that even a 6 year old doesn't want pity...just empathy and mostly encouragement.  After Brooke heard repeatedly "I'm sorry' and "bless your heart', she said, "please stop saying that, you're making it worse'.

Both forearm bones broken in her left arm.  One poked through the skin, but they didn't know that until the operation began.

2 1/2 hour surgery...kept her overnight because her osat was below 90...when we saw here she looked like she had run a marathon in 100 degree heat...surgeon said it was a 'work out' to get those rods in her bones...

Two rods later...and another surgery to come...

Despite her injury, she enjoyed the rest of her vacation!  Hot chocolate, smores, movies, and family time :)

Kam's did great in ski school...skied her first green with dad on the last day!

Erin at the top of the mountain...able to ski any blue in Steamboat!

a conversation with a dead frog...

We came home from church yesterday after a message where the pastor quoted Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.  In Sunday School, Kyle and I taught our second graders about how God feels about sin.  We told them God hates sin and He punishes sin.  Our Bible story was about a man who disobeyed God and God killed him.  Sounds a little harsh, right?  Kyle and I repeated Romans in that the cost of our sin is death...and that sometimes, when we sin, immediate death can happen...like if a little one disobeyed their parents and ran through the parking lot or crossed the street without looking...

So, Brooke goes on a walk with Kyle and Snuggles and sees a dead frog in the middle of the street.  Kyle is listening in on her conversation with the frog.  Brooke kneels down and says to the frog, with all seriousness, 'Poor little frog.  You didn't listen to mama frog and now you're dead.  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life'.  Then she walked on home....

Brooke had her last surgery and turned seven last week!  We are so thankful for her!  Pictures to follow...

Breakfast with daddy...we've loved our last preschool year with our Kam...
Yep, dad of they year.  Put the tent on the trampoline, told ghost stories, and hurried them in at 3 a.m. when it started pouring rain.
It was really comfy...until they fell asleep and since daddy weighs more and they were on the trampoline their little bodies rolled on top of his.  Not. Restful.
PJ Christmas Party at the Oakleys...fun time for the littles...
This is how the girls viewed Christmas lights this year.  Asleep.  Please notice Erin is passed out in the back with her head flopped over and Brooke is sleeping with her tongue out of her mouth because she burnt it on hot cocoa.  Kam told dad that she didn't fall asleep, Kyle showed her this picture and said, 'really?  Let's tell the truth'.
Rachel and I ran the Holiday Half in Portland while visiting our brother for his 40th birthday.
Best Christmas Day ever.  Blessed.  So incredibly grateful to reflect on Jesus...the hope of the world, the hope of our lives.
